Message from our Founder
As we celebrate National Emergency Management Awareness Month, I want to recognize something most people miss about our field: the incredible organizational sophistication emergency managers have built over decades. Comprehensive planning processes, incident command structures, multi-agency coordination protocols—these frameworks work brilliantly at defining who should do what and when.
But here's what I've discovered after watching this field evolve: the coordination gap isn't organizational—it's architectural. Emergency management operates across what I call "incompatible information substrates"—paper plans, digital systems, institutional knowledge trapped in people's heads—that simply can't coordinate automatically.
Most AI solutions are making this worse, optimizing content generation while the fundamental coordination infrastructure remains fragmented. At Preppr, we're building something different: integration innovation that serves coordination rather than individual optimization.
We're not trying to replace what emergency management professionals have built brilliantly. We're completing it with the technical foundation that makes organizational excellence work at the speed modern threats demand—and extends that capability to the whole community in ways that actually connect to operational realities.
This month celebrates awareness, but behind every successful response, every community kept safe, and every disaster averted are professionals who chose to dedicate their careers to protecting others. That commitment deserves tools worthy of the mission.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of that work.

New Features and Platform Updates
We've been busy making Preppr even more powerful and easier to use. Here's what's new on the platform for August 2025:
Ask Preppr Actions and Chat History - Say goodbye to guessing what questions to ask or wondering if your prompts are comprehensive enough. Ask Preppr Actions are sophisticated prompts that deliver expert-level analysis in minutes with zero AI experience required. We're launching with three Actions based on your most common requests:
CPG101 Compliance Evaluation (e.g., identify compliance gaps with specific citations)
Document Discrepancy Analysis (e.g., spot conflicts between partner agencies)
Community Lifeline Gap Analysis (e.g., assess all eight lifelines with actionable recommendations).
Plus, you can now return to and continue previous conversations with Ask Preppr. Your chat history is automatically saved, making it easy to pick up where you left off! Check out the learning lab below to see the upgraded Ask Preppr in action.
Enhanced Exercise Designer - The Preppr Exercise Designer now automatically pulls current intelligence about your chosen threat type from the last 12 months, weaving recent incidents and emerging challenges into your scenarios. You can also select specific documents from your library or upload new ones directly as context—think emergency plans, SOPs, or AARs—for immediate integration into your exercise. Plus: fine-tune your discussion questions with general, scenario-specific, or hybrid options to match your team's needs.
Meet Riverside County - Explore Preppr's capabilities in our new simulation jurisdiction. Riverside County is a carefully crafted composite of real American communities, incorporating the most common vulnerabilities and resource constraints faced by emergency managers nationwide. With its complete county profile and emergency management document library soon to be pre-loaded into all accounts, it serves as both a demonstration environment for Preppr's capabilities and a testing ground for your own curiosity. Read more on our blog here.
Enterprise Subscription - Introducing Enterprise accounts designed for large organizations and complex multi-agency environments. Enterprise includes access to all Preppr features, single sign-on (SSO) integration with your existing systems, advanced administrative controls for managing large teams, dedicated customer support, and customizable service level agreements. View our subscription packages here.
Learning Lab
Using Actions in Ask Preppr - The middle child of the Preppr family has finally gotten the attention it deserved. Over the past couple of months, Ask Preppr has evolved from a simple document chat feature to a comprehensive analysis powerhouse. The platform now integrates eight AI models (OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini), chat history, popular Actions, and seamless addition to custom instructions.
Last month, we put Ask Preppr to the test by asking it to identify discrepancies between two of our new simulation county's outdated emergency operations plans. Ask Preppr caught all 20 discrepancies with 100% accuracy in under 20 seconds. View the full analysis here.
This month, we analyzed Riverside County’s All-Hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and the Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), using Ask Preppr’s Analyze Community Lifeline Integration and Gaps Action. The result? Ask Preppr delivered beyond our expectations—but we're not spoiling the surprise.

From One Emergency Manager to Another
After 20+ years in emergency management, I've seen our field evolve through countless challenges. This National Emergency Management Awareness Month, I'm excited to share how AI tools like Preppr.ai are becoming the "power drills" of our profession.
Think of it this way: A skilled contractor uses power tools for repetitive tasks but keeps their manual screwdriver for precision work. Similarly, AI handles the time-consuming administrative burden—plan analysis, exercise design, intelligence gathering—freeing us to focus on what truly matters: strategic decisions, relationship building, and the human judgment calls that define effective emergency management.
Tools like Preppr.ai can deliver up to 90% time savings on routine tasks. But here's the key: they amplify our expertise, not replace it. When the next crisis hits, it's still our experience, creativity, and relationships that will make the difference.
Emergency management isn't getting easier or better resourced—we're facing greater strain with ever-increasing expectations. But the future isn't about choosing between human expertise and AI—it's about using both to free us from the repetitive to pursue the remarkable.
And honestly? That future is already here.
