Who Wants to Geek Out on Preppr Beta Stats?

73 voices, one mission: Transforming disaster preparedness together.

Written by

In just one month, 73 incredible individuals and organizations joined Preppr’s beta waitlist.

When we launched the beta, we knew we’d attract professionals committed to advancing disaster preparedness. But what we didn’t expect was just how diverse and dynamic this group would be. The beta is bringing together expertise from every corner of the emergency management world, creating a community that reflects the complexity—and opportunity—of disaster preparedness.

Here’s the Breakdown

Over half of our beta testers are solo professionals—independent experts looking to integrate cutting-edge tools into their work.

A third represent teams and organizations, highlighting Preppr’s potential to scale collaboration across groups.

And the consultants? They make up 12% of our users, bringing unique needs and perspectives as they work across sectors to support preparedness efforts.

Where Are They Coming From?

  • Public Sector (62%): From local governments to state agencies, public sector professionals dominate the list, showing a clear demand for smarter tools to support community readiness.

  • Private Sector (37%): Strong interest is also coming from industries like healthcare and engineering—and even a major airport looking to enhance its preparedness.

  • International (5%): Preppr’s reach has even gone global, with users from Canada and New Zealand joining the beta.

Government Representation

Here’s a stat that really stood out: 34% of our beta testers signed up with .gov emails.

These are emergency managers and public officials representing 12 states, including:

  • Washington

  • Ohio

  • Texas

  • California

  • Indiana

  • New York

It’s exciting to see this level of interest from public servants across the country.

Other Sectors Joining the Conversation

Beyond government, we’ve seen strong interest from:

  • Universities exploring how Preppr can support research and training.

  • Healthcare organizations preparing for disaster scenarios that impact public health.

  • Nonprofits focused on community resilience.

  • Consultants looking for innovative ways to streamline their work.

Why This Matters

This diversity is exactly what we hoped for. Preppr’s goal isn’t to be just another emergency management tool—it’s to be a platform that works for everyone in the preparedness ecosystem.

To build something truly transformative, we need input from solo practitioners, government officials, private sector leaders, and nonprofits alike. Thanks to this incredible mix of beta testers, we’re already getting perspectives from all sides.

What’s Next?

The beta is officially full, and we’re rolling up our sleeves to make sure it delivers the impact our testers expect.

If you missed the chance to join, don’t worry—this is just the beginning. Preppr’s mission is to reshape how we approach disaster preparedness, and there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in the future.

To everyone who signed up: thank you for trusting us to be part of your preparedness journey. We can’t wait to work together to build something that changes the game.

Stay tuned—we’re just getting started.

Our Emergency Alert Generation Tool is Now Freely Available Under Creative Commons

By

Justin Snair

Preppr.ai has released its "Ask Preppr Action: Preparedness Alert & Warning Template Generation" protocol, a sophisticated, multi-agent system that runs in Large Language Models to help public safety officials create effective and compliant emergency alerts. The tool guides users through a structured, research-based workflow to generate templates for various platforms while enforcing FEMA/IPAWS standards and ethical guidelines. Arguing that life-saving tools should be widely accessible, the company is making the protocol freely available under a Creative Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0) license to foster greater accessibility, innovation, and transparency in the emergency management community.

I was wrong about AI

By

Justin Snair

Like many in emergency management and business continuity, I saw AI as a productivity boost—extracting details from plans, generating scenarios, drafting reports. The tool worked great. But I was solving the wrong problem. We don't have a content creation problem in EM/BC. We create plenty of plans and reports. Our real challenges are deeper: coordination failures, engagement gaps, and tacit knowledge trapped in silos.
