Swarm Intelligent Prepareness: Transforming Disaster Preparedness One Step at a Time

Preppr.ai is on a mission to rethink how we handle disaster preparedness. Right now, it’s only scratching the surface of what’s possible, and there’s so much more to come.

The Bigger Picture: More Than Just Exercise Design

Right now, Preppr is all about making disaster exercise design faster, easier, and smarter. But the real vision goes way beyond that. The bigger goal is to turn it into an all-in-one platform for learning, preparing, and collaborating around disasters. Here’s what that could look like:

  • Everything You Need, All in One Place: Imagine pulling together knowledge bases, open-source intelligence (OSINT), risk models, and other tools into one powerful platform.

  • Making It Simple: Using natural language mapping, Preppr can turn complicated preparedness plans into something clear and actionable for everyone.

Swarm-Intelligent Preparedness: A Big Idea in the Works

What makes Preppr’s vision stand out is its plan to bring people together through opt-in swarms. This feature, called swarm-intelligent preparedness, is still under development, but it holds incredible potential for connecting governments, community groups, and even individual households, all while tailoring the experience for everyone involved.

  • Tailored for You: For governments, it will focus on big-picture planning. For households, it’ll offer bite-sized steps or fun mini-games to help get ready. At each level, Preppr adapts—refining language, adjusting jargon, and focusing efforts.

  • Your Own Preppr Agent: Everyone will get their own AI agent, like a personal chief of staff, that learns what they need and helps them connect with others.

When it’s up and running, these agents won’t just help individuals. They’ll also work together. Picture a community swarm sharing insights with a government swarm—those insights get pulled into exercises automatically, making the whole process faster and smarter.

The goal?

A massive network of shared knowledge and resources that’s accessible and affordable for everyone. This is the challenge we’re tackling with the generous funding support of the NYC Pandemic Response Institute.

Making It Happen

Preppr has already launched a limited beta for solo accounts. While it’s still early days, this milestone marks an important step toward building something truly transformative. The limited beta is giving us a chance to test, learn, and improve with real users, bringing us closer to making this vision a reality for everyone.

If you’re following along, know that this is just the beginning of what Preppr can do. Each step forward gets us closer to the full potential of what this platform can offer—for individuals, communities, and beyond.

Want to Be Part of It?

If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, now’s a great time to jump in. The registration and vetting process is open, and we’re excited to welcome early adopters who want to shape Preppr into the best tool it can be. Your feedback and ideas will help guide us as we grow.

Together, we can create a stronger, smarter future for disaster preparedness.

Our Emergency Alert Generation Tool is Now Freely Available Under Creative Commons

By

Justin Snair

Preppr.ai has released its "Ask Preppr Action: Preparedness Alert & Warning Template Generation" protocol, a sophisticated, multi-agent system that runs in Large Language Models to help public safety officials create effective and compliant emergency alerts. The tool guides users through a structured, research-based workflow to generate templates for various platforms while enforcing FEMA/IPAWS standards and ethical guidelines. Arguing that life-saving tools should be widely accessible, the company is making the protocol freely available under a Creative Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0) license to foster greater accessibility, innovation, and transparency in the emergency management community.

I was wrong about AI

By

Justin Snair

Like many in emergency management and business continuity, I saw AI as a productivity boost—extracting details from plans, generating scenarios, drafting reports. The tool worked great. But I was solving the wrong problem. We don't have a content creation problem in EM/BC. We create plenty of plans and reports. Our real challenges are deeper: coordination failures, engagement gaps, and tacit knowledge trapped in silos.
