We're thrilled to announce that Preppr.ai has been selected as one of 30 semi-finalists from 150 applicants representing 14 countries for the QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge.
This global competition, delivered in partnership with QBE Insurance, Leading Cities, and the Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC), brings together innovators working to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the dramatic increase in climate-related disasters.
The Challenge We Face
The numbers tell a stark story: climate-related disasters have increased fivefold globally since 1970. Traditional humanitarian response models, while crucial, simply cannot scale to meet the magnitude and frequency of these events. We need new approaches—tools and technologies that can help communities prepare before disaster strikes, respond effectively during crises, and recover more quickly in the aftermath.
Why This Matters for Preppr
This challenge represents a powerful alignment with our mission at Preppr. We built our platform specifically to democratize disaster preparedness—to make sophisticated emergency management capabilities accessible to organizations of all sizes, from small municipalities to large enterprises.

What Comes Next
Over the next six months, we'll work alongside Australian Red Cross partners, the semi-finalist cohort, and communities on the front lines of climate disasters—those facing bushfires, floods, cyclones, and heatwaves. Together, we'll co-design tools that:
Turn weather data into actionable information for at-risk communities
Enable people to communicate their needs during recovery
Match local helpers with urgent community needs in real time
This collaborative approach is at the heart of both the challenge and our technology.
