From groundbreaking research partnerships to practical tools you can use today (for free), October exemplified our commitment to making emergency preparedness more inclusive, intelligent, and effective.

October Highlight

Preppr Collaborate Study Launches with First Health Departments - We're excited to announce that the Preppr Collaborate pilot study officially launched this month! This groundbreaking research initiative, funded by the Preparedness & Recovery Institute (PRI) marks a significant milestone in our mission to transform emergency exercise design through collective intelligence. Over the coming months, 10 pioneering organizations will use Preppr Collaborate to design tabletop exercises while Rachael Piltch-Loeb, PhD from City University New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy independently evaluates the platform.

New Features and Platform Updates

Preppr Collaborate is our newest innovation that brings everyone to the (virtual) table in exercise design. Instead of traditional exercises that involve a dozen people across months of planning, Collaborate enables you to create exercise design campaigns and engage community or organizational partners. Schools, hospitals, faith communities, nonprofits, local businesses—all contributing their unique perspectives without endless meetings or scheduling nightmares. All at a scale and inclusiveness to truly be considered “whole of community” preparedness.

Think of a campaign as your collaborative exercise design project. All participants contribute through conversational AI—dialogue with Preppr that feels like talking with a knowledgeable preparedness consultant. The system interprets your responses and tailors follow-up questions based on each user's role, organization, and previous answers.

This is known as a campaign-based collective intelligence approach. Our multi-provider AI architecture does all the heavy lifting—requiring zero AI expertise from users. Specialized AI agents handle conversational guidance, real-time data synthesis, pattern recognition, and contributor discussion guide generation—all while maintaining context across a network of distributed conversations. The platform features role-based access controls, automated workflow management, and secure SOC 2 compliance that meets or exceeds most IT requirements.

We’ll be sharing more soon about how this innovative technology works, along with updates as the study moves forward.

Alert! Preppr is Featured in Domestic Preparedness Cyber Security and Technology Issue - Purpose-built AI can turn complex communication challenges into faster, smarter, and more reliable processes. By engaging research, technology, and practitioner insight in our design process, we made evidence-based practices core features, not afterthoughts. In this article, we share how we solved a common emergency alert problem and made the solution freely available to all under creative commons. Read the full article here (Page 35).
